Why Do Some People Choose A Rope Hammock
The rope hammock is one of the most popular hammock models on the market today, even though it does look very uncomfortable it is in fact very comfortable indeed. So on a warm sunny day you can relax, read a book and chill out on this amazing piece of garden furniture.
Rope hammocks are generally constructed from several dozen ropes interwoven into a consistent pattern, the better quality rope hammock uses a cotton rope and can often support more than one person at the same time, provided that it is one of the larger models.
People often think that a rope hammock will trap or pinch their arms and legs, but this is actually a fairly rare occurrence. The things that most uses have to watch out for when using one is to be care full not to get tangled in the ropes. It would also be advisable to be aware of the cloths you are waring when planing to use your hammock, take care not to get zippers and buttons caught in the ropes. So if you plan to spend an afternoon on the hammock reading and watching the clouds, also plan on wearing a sweat suit.
Why do some people choose this style of hammock over other popular models that are available on the market today, such as a fabric, chair or a swing hammock?
There are probably lots of reasons but two of the main basic reasons are:
The first is that the rope hammock is designed to stretch and support a person’s weight. This means that after a short length of time, you will actually fit quite nicely in the hammock and wont feel like it is constantly trying to eject you, as you might with a fabric model.
The second reason is down to the design which is woven, this allows air to flow and circulate around your body keeping you cool and comfortable on a warm sunny day.
There are a number of popular variations of the hammock on the market today. The most popular, perhaps, is the Island Bay model, which is a fairly standard rope weave with wooden bars on either side. The rope is made out of polyester and stretches nicely to fit several people on larger models. This model usually sells for around $100, but if you get a free-standing rope hammock, it may be cheaper.
