The Nag Head Hammock Isn’t A New Type Of Hammock

In addition to its nice scenery and colorful history, Nag Head is also famous for the hammock it manufactures which is known as the Nag Head Hammock which as been in production for around 30 years. As you might imagine, relaxing on a hammock is one of the holiday makers favorite pass times, this is why they don’t want to leave the Nag Head Hammocks behind when they have to return home. This is often why they decide to buy this type of hammock to take back with them.

Nag Head is a quiet, sandy headland in North Carolina. Its past is riddled with interesting stories of pirate attacks, both on land and sea. While most pirates preyed on the shipping routes through out the Caribbean, the Nag Head pirates actually preyed on land merchants. It was rumored that the pirates were disgruntled bankers, who had devised a brilliant strategy of land-piracy. Whether or not these tales are true, they along with the beautiful beaches and pleasant weather attract holiday makers to Nag Head, North Carolina every year.

Nag Head hammocks aren’t a new type of hammock. In general, a Nag Head hammock is made out of fabric, similar to traditional hammocks. However, unlike modern hammocks they are generally made out of soft cotton blends rather than synthetic acrylics. These types of hammocks are hand crafted in several coastal shops in the area and the hammock stands are made from southern cypress wood.

A combination of pleasant surroundings and resting on a Nag Head hammock, contribute to bringing the tourist back year after year to sandy Nag Head.

Additionally, a Nag Head hammock will usually have some type of symbol on it. Since it is often a tourist purchase manufacturers will make Nag Head hammocks that have a printed or embroidered pirate or a skull-and-cross bones symbol on them. This symbolizes the pirates that once preyed on merchants in the area.
