Take a mini vacation in your own back yard with the Oatmeal Duracord Hammock. The DuraCord is not cotton or polyester but a new rope of its own. Duracord rope allows the Oatmeal color to stand against the harsh weather but also to be as soft as the cotton hammock. Not only is this hammock softer and fade resistant, it is mildew, mold, and stain resistant. If the hammock needs to be cleaned bleach may be used without worry of fading or harming the hammock. So take a load off, and be care free for awhile. Dated back over 100 years Pawleys Island Traditional Hammocks are now made out of Duracord. This Hammock has been carefully designed to insure the greatest strength and comfort. The ropes are made from tightly entwined three ply rope for superior quality and durability. The solid oak spreader bars have been triple hand dipped into marine spar varnish for a lasting beauty. The spreader bars have been faintly bent with steam to for a softer sway. Pawleys Island carefully constructs every possible piece of their product right down to the hanging hardware. The strongest hanging hardware is included with this hammock. The hanging hardware is heavy-duty blue chrome zinc plated hardware which resists rust. Stand and Pillow sold separately.

Having had Pawleys Island Hammocks before, I was glad to see the addition of the Dura Cord product line. I was a little apprehensive about the “feel” of the new material, but it is actually nicer than the old cotton one, and looks beautiful. Average lifetime of the cotton was about 4 years for us when left out all the time, so we will see about this one, but I trust the brand, so assume it will be better.

I don’t think I’ll ever leave my back yard again. You’d never know that this isn’t cotton. It’s so soft. It’s got a huge weight capacity, so the whole family can hang out in it. Love it!

The hammock was even nicer than I thought it would be. Easy to hang with the hardware included. Holds 2 adults comfortably… up to 450lbs

After 30 days. This is a great hammock…seems small at first but it very comfortable holds my wife and I at the same time. We’ve literally fallen asleep for a couple hours while listing to music as the dusk turns to night. Oatmeal color hides stains. Duracord is soft to the touch and dries quickly after rain. Haven’t had critter issues yet. Weaving looks nice and appears durable. Stretch is adequate without becoming a problem. Steel and wood pieces are nicely finished…overall a terrific and relaxing addition to our yard.

What a perfect way to spend a lazy summer afternoon…lounging in a comfy hammock with a glass of iced-tea. (Heavy sigh)…that’s exacly how I spent my first weekend once I got my hammock set up. The rope that the hammock is made of is a very soft cotton-like material. The rope doesn’t dig into my skin or scratch me. I love it!

Absolutelty top-notch. I left it out in rain, shine and fog for 6 months now. Don’t have the energy to get it inside each time it rains (and oh boy, did it rain this summer in Dallas!). Each time sun shines back, my hammock is as great-feeling, as shiny and as taut as new. This weekend I had a party in my backyard, and my guests turned on the rough heat a little bit – they were even using it as a swing, three adults at a time. I was a little concerned, but at the end it was as if nothing happened. Kind of the feeling you get after you complete your first cross-state long drive with your Honda or Toyota – you are concerned whether your car is OK, but that trip was not even as much as a dent on its mind-boggling robust engineering. Pawleys rocks!
Mine and my wife’s inexperience at the beginning resulted in a very scarily tangled up knot – all the hammock’s ropes seemed to be tied to evry other piece of rope and passing through every other hole. But we slept on ot for a night, and gave it another shot next day. An intricate amount of mathematical calculations saved the day, and the hammock was straight again. It was us to blame in the first place – be careful to handle the hammock the right way. While rolling up, use the wood bars at the ends as anchor. Do not try fancy styles or get inattentive while rolling it up or down.

This is the ultimate hammock. It’s well constructed, durable, and fits two people very comfortably. The hammock doesn’t curl up on you, even with only one person in it. The duracord also feels as soft as cotton, but it’s much more resistant to the outdoors. My husband and I have fallen asleep in it more than once. This is the best name and best quality in hammocks you’ll find anywhere.

This hammock is my idea of a perfect Recreational Vehicle: it rocks me gently when I tear myself away from summertime chores and read to the gentle swaying, occasionally peering up through the tangle of apple tree branches to glimpse a patch of cloudless blue sky. And talk about fuel efficiency! It’s good-looking, allows for extra passengers, and will transport me to anywhere I want to go without leaving home.
